Astronomical Object Finder

Discover What’s Best to Image Tonight

Ever set up your telescope pointed at a specific patch of sky and wondered what targets are available? The Object Finder solves this by searching in reverse: tell it where you’re looking, and it finds the best objects for you.

Enter your location, observation date, and the direction you want to image—azimuth, altitude range, and search radius—and the tool searches through thousands of catalog objects to find what’s visible in that exact area of sky. Results are ranked by an intelligent scoring system that considers visibility duration, moon-free time, peak altitude, object type, and brightness.

A Gantt-style timeline shows when each object is observable throughout the night, making it easy to plan imaging sequences. Found something interesting? One click opens it directly in the Visibility Calculator for detailed analysis.

Perfect for fixed-mount setups, avoiding obstructions, or simply discovering new targets in your available sky.
